I don’t love to talk about myself and I’m apprehensive about having an online presence. My name is Ryan Day Thompson. I’m Dine and Bilagaana.

I silversmith, make beads, make moccasins, once in a while fire a few traditional pieces of pottery in the old style, and spend as much time as my schedule allows in the hooghan. I was an adventure and architectural photographer for 20 years. Three generations ago there was an atsidi in my family but I learned what I know from the mentorship of friends. I grew up and was raised in Denver. Traditionally my family walks around in Cove, AZ. I live right now with my wife in “New Mexico”.

I’m a student of both the styles and methods of the First Phase in silver and the styles and methods of a thousand, thousand years ago in stone and shell necklaces. At least for the time being, however, you will find both old and contemporay methods used on this website. Photographically I tend towards the style of the “Straight Photography” era.

Walk around carefully, my friends.
